Amazon Peak Season Storage & Fulfillment Fees
If you sell through FBA, Q4 can bring additional fulfillment costs. Amazon’s 2026 peak fulfillment fees apply from October 15, 2026 through January 14, 2027, with separate rates for standard products, apparel, and dangerous goods.
On top of these peak fulfillment fees, Amazon is also applying a 3.5% fuel and logistics-related surcharge to FBA fulfillment fees, effective April 17, 2026. With these additional Q4 costs, sellers should review their fulfillment strategy and consider whether moving more inventory through a 3PL could help improve cost predictability during peak season.
Why ship with ShipSage this peak season?
Peak-season carrier and fulfillment costs may be unavoidable, but overpaying doesn't have to be. ShipSage's storage and pick-and-pack rates remain consistent throughout the year, helping provide more predictable fulfillment costs during your busiest season. If you'd like to compare the numbers and see what makes the most sense for your business, we'd be happy to help.
Peak Season Fees Are Coming from the Carriers
Peak season surcharges are on the way, with FedEx, UPS, and USPS expected to apply their annual demand-based fees from late September through mid-January. As in past years, the highest increases will likely land around Black Friday and the holiday shipping rush.
For sellers, that usually means higher per-package costs on ground, residential, and economy services, in addition to fuel and dimensional weight charges. While final 2026 rate tables are still being confirmed, the overall structure is expected to follow previous peak seasons.
The good news is that ShipSage is already built to help you stay ahead of it. Our rate shopping tool will continue factoring in published peak surcharges as carriers release them, helping ensure each package is routed with the most cost-effective shipping option available. We’ll also keep you updated as soon as each carrier finalizes its 2026 pricing.
